ABOUT ME

My name is Bibiana, I am a Colombian psychologist with a unique practice helping clients across the globe. Born into a typical Latino family of obligations and “shoulds,” I was raised with many external expectations that I internalized. In my adulthood, I transformed through the unique methodology of Psychogenealogy that I now practice as a psychologist. I understand how it can feel to be constrained by imposed limitations from one’s family dynamics, and am proud to help those I work with resignify these dynamics and transform themselves and their relationships.

ABOUT ME

I am a professional psychologist with a Master’s degree in Bioneuroemotion®, a methodology employed to better well-being through a deep analysis of the origin of emotional conflicts. In addition, I am a specialist in Transgenerational therapy, accredited from the Anne Ancelin Shutzenberger school as a Psychogenealogist. My academic background is complemented by my practice of traditional healing and ancestral connection methods; I use systemic therapy and introspective tools such as ceremonial cacao in my therapies and workshops. I have worked with clients from around the world for more than 14 years, first in my native Colombia and, over the last 12 years, from my home in Shanghai.

First and foremost, my personal journey guides my practice as a psychologist. When I was 24 years old, I went through a period of profound pain, sadness and suffering; I experienced a complete disconnection from my sense of self, which forced me to question every belief and idea I held. Although this time in my life challenged me, it provided the opportunity to evaluate my life and how it was «designed» by my ancestry and family tree.

Like many of my clients, throughout this period of difficulty I knew I needed to  change , but was unsure how to commit to and begin transformation. I couldn’t seem to find  myself, I was depressed and without an internal anchor to ground me. Searching for my identity and inner essence led me to different approaches and  healing practices. With time, I found practices such as meditation, which enlightened me to the extent to which I was deeply unhappy. Once I began the inner work, I realized that I was unconsciously repeating what I had inherited from my ancestors’ systems of belief, values, and ideas. Rather than empowering me, these inherited systems limited me and caused me to disconnect from my true self and my own potential.

sychogenealogy, the school of thought I now use to help my clients, is what ultimately shifted my perspective and allowed me to grow.  I created  my genosociogram and began to understand the  family dynamics and expectations that plagued me. Slowly, I unraveled the inherited discourse that I was subconsciously repeating  to myself daily. These were the first steps in my  journey of self-awareness, self-actualisation and manifestation. As a result of the inner work, my external relationships with family and others also improved.

Throughout my 14 years as a psychologist, I have formed relationships with  hundreds of people of varied  nationalities and origins. Yet the tools that I have employed, which helped me personally, have universal application. I am proud to support and accompany my clients throughout their journeys, as they become responsible for their own experiences and transformation.

My time living as a foreigner in Shanghai has allowed me to share my experience with my clients, many of whom have also experienced life far from home. Together, we analyze belief systems and negative emotional states in order to  understand them and attribute new meaning to them. This alternative approach to their problems and conflicts manifests in exciting ways., and most crucially with the  opportunity to transform  their lives.

Through my personal journey and my multitude of experiences with my clients, I have created a singular therapeutic approach. Based on the recognition, detachment from, and transformation of limiting beliefs inherited from the family tree, my therapy helps my clients to gain deep awareness of themselves.  When dedicated to the inner work,  it is possible to rid ourselves of  constant negative thinking, the repetition of unhealthy and toxic behaviors, and the feelings that prevent us from achieving  true happiness in our present moment.

When we work together, we embark on a  complete, existential and transformative experience, designed to help you lead a  more fulfilling life in the present.

MY THREE AIMS

I aim to help you find harmony in your day-to-day life.  By becoming aware of inherited harmful patterns you can detach from them and find yourself beyond the family contract and social obligations.

I aim to help you feel free and full of possibilities to explore your true self and to heal the trauma holding you back.

I aim to help you so that your relationships are honest, not repetitions of toxic relationships from your childhood or your past, and that only brings you harmony, growth, and peace.
